United Way/Centraide Windsor-Essex County is proud to announce that we have received $180,000 in funding to deliver a free school lunch program in two Sandwich area schools a minimum of one day a week throughout the school year. In collaboration with COOK-UP, we will also develop a framework to encourage local businesses to supply food for the program. Funding for the project has been provided by the Gordie Howe International Bridge Community Benefit Plan.

“This groundbreaking free school lunch program will be one of the first of its kind in Windsor-Essex and will have an incredibly positive impact on students and their families. We are thankful to the Gordie Howe International Bridge Community Benefits Plan for providing the funding needed to deliver this healthy investment in two Sandwich area schools.” -Lorraine Goddard, CEO, United Way/Centraide Windsor-Essex County
