“My biggest accomplishment is graduating high school. I would tell other On Track To Success students to keep your head up, work hard and try and get involved as much as possible,” says Lidiana, a 2020 program graduate and current nursing student at St. Clair College. Lidiana loves children. Her goal is to become a pediatric nurse.
On Track to Success nurtures resilience in youth
The ON TRACK TO SUCCESS program offers supports that wrap around a family and help kids graduate high school and go on to post-secondary education – the clearest pathway to a life of prosperity.
“I had different times where I felt like I should drop out because my marks were low,” says Lidiana. “But I feel like being in the On Track program and having all those supportive people around me definitely helped me through that.”
“Especially with the tutoring group and all the programs and group things that we did after school, I think that that helped me focus on the future and the outcome. Even though it might be tough in the moment, you know, there’s a good reward at the end.”
“We gained a lot of leadership and communication skills from the people around us. That helped me gain skills that would not only help me personally, but also professionally for the future.”
