February Event 2022

March 8, 2022

On Tuesday, March 8, 2022 from 3 pm to 7 pm, United Way in partnership with the Windsor & District Labour Council held the sixth annual Tampon Tuesday Drive-Thru Collection at United Way’s Office at 300 Giles Boulevard East in Windsor.

Menstrual hygiene products are one of the most requested, yet least donated items at food banks and shelters.  With your help, we can change that.

Collect donations on your own or with your organization and drop them off each March to celebrate International Women’s Day.  If you have any questions, please contact llogronio@weareunited.com or 519-259-6195.

Windsor, ON – United Way/Centraide Windsor-Essex County and the Windsor and District Labour Council are hosting the sixth annual Tampon Tuesday event, celebrating International Women’s Day and creating awareness about issues facing people who live in poverty.

Far too many people in our community are living in low-income and simply cannot afford menstrual hygiene products. These products are some of the least donated items to food banks.

Individuals and community groups are invited to stop by the Tampon Tuesday Drive-Thru event to drop off donations of menstrual hygiene products. Everyone is asked to remain in their vehicles at all times. People are asked to put products in their trunk for volunteers to remove to help follow social distancing protocols due to COVID-19.

So far, 16 area high schools are also holding collection drives to support Tampon Tuesday. These products will be re-distributed to people in need through the Windsor-Essex Food Bank Association’s network of 15 organizations, food banks at St. Clair College and the University of Windsor, Pozitive Pathways, Street Help, United Way’s On Track to Success Program, and more.
