Windsor, ON – Leadership Windsor/Essex (LWE) is honouring 40 leaders under 40 who are not only emerging leaders in their profession, but are also giving back to their community in meaningful ways.
The Leadership Windsor/Essex 40 Leaders Under 40 Awards are new to Windsor-Essex, and recognize 40 civic-minded community leaders who have demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to Windsor-Essex County by selflessly undertaking goodwill activities and/or providing community service for the betterment of the region. The top 40 leaders will be recognized at an awards night on March 28, 2018 at Caesars Windsor. The public is welcome to attend this event.
In November and December, the community submitted over 150 nominations. From amongst this list of outstanding individuals, the top 40 award recipients were selected by an advisory panel representative of the public, private, and non-profit sectors in Windsor and Essex County. Recipients were selected based on three main criteria – active community involvement, meaningful impact on the community as a result of their leadership and/or personal actions, and has inspired others with their leadership and advocacy on key issues facing our community.
“We were extremely impressed with the response of the community. To have so many people nominated is a clear signal of the outstanding work being done in our community,” says LWE Program Director Sherrilynn Colley-Vegh. “These diverse, talented, innovative young leaders are valuable assets to our community and it’s a wonderful opportunity to celebrate their success.”
