United Way and the Emerging Philanthropists are proud to welcome Jessica Catherwood as the new chair of Emerging Philanthropists, starting January 2018.
Below is a message from the outgoing Chair, Noah Tepperman. We are so thankful for everything Noah has done to help launch the initiative and are happy that he will continue his work with United Way as a member of the Board of Directors.
Over the last few weeks the Steering Committee has been putting the finishing touches on the calendar of programming & events for 2018. Thanks to the feedback many of you provided through online surveys and in-person focus groups, we’ve continued to tailor and refine the schedule so that we can create the kinds of engaging experiences that we know you’re looking for.
Our goal for the Emerging Philanthropists initiative has been to engage and align a diverse group of emerging adult leaders - people like you - with United Way and, in the process, to develop a life-long commitment to philanthropy through a focus on hands-on volunteering, personal & leadership development, fundraising, and socializing.
It’s my pleasure to announce that beginning in January 2018, the new Chair of the E.P. Steering Committee will be our own Jessica Catherwood!
Jessica has been with the initiative from the formation of the Steering Committee. A long-time staff member at Green Shield of Canada, Jessica's relationship with United Way bloomed as a result of her experiences on GSC’s workplace campaign, including Seeing is Believing Tours and hands-on leadership of GSC’s exceptional internal campaign operations. Together with David Burman, Elise Keller, Brandon Stanley and Lauren Nantau, Jessica will insure that your commitment to Emerging Philanthropists delivers an experience that will leave you with a deeper sense of your own power & self-expression as philanthropists.
To all of you - our members, our Working Groups, the Steering Committee and our staff supports - I say thank you. Thank you for your commitment to United Way, to this new community of Emerging Philanthropists, and to the future of Windsor & Essex County. It’s been my great privilege to be a part of it.
