The late Honourable Justice Edward W. Ducharme was an academic, an educator, a lover of poetry and the law. Justice Ducharme respected and valued his colleagues on the bench, the lawyers at bar and the public that he served. He was motivated by a deep sense of commitment to the public interest and to the public good.
The Honourable Justice Edward W. Ducharme Award of Distinction, presented by Strosberg Sasso Sutts LLP and United Way/Centraide Windsor-Essex County, recognizes a member of the Windsor-Essex community who emulates the values of the late Justice Ducharme, demonstrates the commitment of service and one who gives back in meaningful ways to others, to his/her community, or to their profession.
Nominations are received by United Way/Centraide Windsor-Essex County. Staff pre-screens the nominations to ensure all required information is included.
The finalists are determined based on the award criteria and supporting documentation provided. Final selection of the Honourable Justice Edward W. Ducharme Award of Distinction recipient is made by a Selection Committee consisting of a diverse group of leaders from the Windsor-Essex County area.
The deadline for submission is July 14, 2017.
- Nominee has made significant contributions to education, law, leadership or service to others in Windsor-Essex County.
- Must be a person of recognized personal and professional integrity committed to the mission and values of United Way/Centraide Windsor-Essex County; inclusiveness, leadership and volunteerism. .
