United Way/Centraide Windsor-Essex County supports thousands of people across the community, and is committed to those in need.
Within each of our seven investment strategies are the specific programs being delivered by our partners. These programs all support our chosen strategies in different ways. We are currently investing in 32 different programs and working with dozens of community partners, all of which are working to positively change the lives of people in Windsor and Essex County. Last year, 44,205 people were helped by programs we supported, of which 6,265 people were from the County.
United Way's Directory of Programs and Services outlines the strategies and programs we invested in across Windsor and Essex County from April 2015 unitl March 2020. This work would not be possible without the incredible support of our donors, and the partners that deliver these vital services.
New Investments for 2015-2020
We are building on the successes of the last five years to make Windsor-Essex an even better place to live with new, improved, and innovative approaches in place by spring of 2015. There will be some new programs based on priorities chosen by the community, as well as some with which you may already be familiar.
We have a comprehensive process for reviewing applications for funding, involving staff and a volunteer Impact Council made up of a diverse group of community leaders in their respective sectors or fields. The recommendations from that review process are reported to the Board of Directors, which makes the final decision on our community investments.
