Making a difference

United Way is focused on meeting the needs of the MOST vulnerable in our community – seniors and children living with low income, people who might be struggling with mental health issues, neighbourhoods where we have growing poverty.  United Way is investing in those strategies that the community feels are really important and where gaps exist in this critical work, based on research and community input.

Achieving Impact

United Way’s role in the community is that we are able to work with and support organizations to ensure that they are delivering services in an effective and efficient way.  We are able to ensure, not only that the funds and support are going where they are needed, but that the services are delivered in a way that achieves positive, lasting change in the community.

Our impact on reducing the effects of poverty..
through food programs & youth career building strategies.
Our impact on helping young people reach their full potential..
through after-school & mentoring programs, & other family supports.
Our impact on building strong communities..
through counselling & other supports, & neighbourhood
engagement strategies.
