United Way/Centraide Windsor-Essex County supports thousands of people across the community, and is committed to those in need. Our work would not be possible without the incredible support of our donors and the partners that deliver these vital services.
Our priorities are to:
- Reduce poverty - We will help people meet basic needs and move them out of poverty.
- Support kids and families - We will make sure kids succeed in school & grow into healthy adults.
- Strengthen neighbourhoods across Windsor & Essex County - We will build strong communities by supporting personal well-being & strengthening neighbourhoods.
There are seven specific strategies which support our priorities. The strategies we invest in are determined through a wide-reaching community consultation process, and are supported by community data, including trends over time in Windosr-Essex County, a comparison to provincial data, and an assessment of where gaps in services may exist in the community.
OUR STRATEGIES 2015-2020:
Reduce poverty: Poverty to Possibility
*Other funders are picking up the ball with some significant 10-year municipal and provincial investments. The Debt Prevention and Transitions to Stable Housing strategies are no longer being funded by United Way after 2014.
