Bill and Rochelle Tepperman on Leadership Giving
We believe that playing an active role in our community is important.
We believe that being a part of United Way, through our contribution, helps to stabilize this community of ours, and helps all of us to build it for the future.
We believe that United Way has demonstrated through the years that the Windsor and Essex County community is a better place to live because of the efforts that so many of us have joined together to fund.
By donating $1,000 or more to United Way this year, together we can help thousands of our neighbours with the programs and services they need to live better lives. We know that our Leadership Donation is invested locally, to keep kids in school; to keep families together, and supported, through times of stress; and to help seniors and people with disabilities to live active, happy and dignified lives.
The Federal Budget of 2006 brought exciting changes to the tax laws which allow taxpayers to gift securities to charities. The significant, and most exciting, change is that donations of securities will not only receive full tax credit, but the capital gains on those securities will no longer be subject to tax. This means that you can give more, while significantly reducing your tax liability in the process.
The current economic situation in our area means that many people who may never have needed help before will need it now. Please join with the two of us, by being a Leadership Donor, that way we can all participate in building and maintaining the kind of community in which we all want to live.
